Leadership for a sustainable future was the motto of last week’s gathering of almost 200 alumnae and alumni of our various Executive MBA programmes in St.Gallen. Emphasising sustainable networking and lifelong learning, the event found the perfect balance between lively exchange and valuable input, with early presentations by Prof. Dr. Judith Walls and Regula Wallimann amongst others, atmospheric entertainment by Martin O., workshops and sustainable activities such as the joint construction of birdhouses and a beehive.

The afternoon saw five workshops led by EMBA HSG alumni. Next to important subjects such as innovation, mobility, real estate management, communication and leadership, the essential topic of sustainability was explored in depth. The concluding round-up panel was moderated by EMBA HSG Alumni Co-President Daniela Decurtins. Here, the workshop leaders shared insights in the exciting and wide-ranging discussions in their respective sessions, while highlighting the multi-dimensionality and challenges of sustainability.

“The Homecoming event was a complete success: our EMBA community is vibrant and diverse, demonstrated once again today! Personally, it always makes me happy to see a crowded WBZ – especially when it is the alumnae and alumni of our programmes,” said Karolin Frankenberger, Academic Director of the Executive MBA at the University of St.Gallen.

“We are very pleased that we were able to contribute an important part to the successful Homecoming Event 2023 with our exciting and diverse workshops,” said co-presidents Daniela Decurtins and Stefan Stübi, who were unanimously re-elected at the general assembly. “We are of the alumni – for the alumni. This network is extremely well positioned, both in terms of breadth and depth, even when it comes to such complex topics like sustainability. We can all benefit from it and are already looking forward to the next events – such as the Fiirabig event in September in Zurich or the Refresher in November in St. Gallen.”
